Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do you provide a written agreement?
Absolutely. Every single event requires a contract. All terms, prices, locations, and contacts are clearly detailed in every contract. We cannot provide services without a written agreement between both parties. This is for our liability and your protection.
2. How do I secure your services for the date of my event?
In order to secure our services for your event, we require two things: a signed contract and a non-refundable deposit of $150. Once we receive both of these things, you are guaranteed our services for your event. Most times, clients are prepared with a deposit at the initial meeting. We cannot hold a date without a deposit and contract.
3. What methods of payment do you accept?
We currently accept cash, check, credit card, or money order. Credit cards are accepted through PayPal. Venmo payments are also accepted. The balance of the contract is due on the date of the event BEFORE the event begins. We will not begin service until any and all balances are settled. The service fee for any returned check is $50 in addition to the amount owed.
4. How/When/Where do we schedule an appointment?
The easiest way to schedule an appointment is by calling us directly at (951) 337-7244 or emailing us at pacificsummitdj@hotmail.com . Once initial contact is made, your DJ will schedule an appointment at a time and place of your convenience.
5. Is overtime available?
Overtime is always available. The usual rate is $100 per hour paid directly to the DJ before the overtime starts. The overtime rate is always negotiated at the time the contract is signed and the deposit changes hands.
6. Do you charge for travel time and setup?
When you book a DJ for 5 hours, you get 5 hours of service. Travel and setup time are done outside of the agreed upon time frame, with the contracted rate already covering compensation. For example, if your wedding is booked from 5pm to 10pm, your DJ will begin music at 5pm and end the last song at 10pm; but your DJ will arrive by 3pm to setup and stay until 11pm to tear down. We always arrive at every event at least an hour or two prior to the start time to ensure we are setup and ready to go before the first guest arrives. Any and all rates and prices are negotiated at the time the contract is signed.
7. Do you offer lighting/effect packages?
Absolutely! Every event comes with a set of dance floor lights (a T-Bar setup with 4 multi-colored lights hanging down that strobe and react to the music). We also offer uplighting, pinspot lighting, monograms, video montages, and more. Please contact us today to get a specific quote for your lighting/effects needs.
8. Do you offer live music?
Yes! Pacific Summit DJ owner Gabriel Soriano has been playing and performing live music for most of his life. On many occasions, Soriano has performed live guitar/vocals for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, corporate mixers, and after-party sing-a-longs. Proficient in many styles, Soriano can add a unique live music element to your event, learning and performing custom songs, and even allowing guests to pick songs out of his "Cover Book" for him to perform. Soriano's "Cover Book" has the chords and lyrics to many wonderful songs spanning an eclectic array of genres. From Frank Sinatra to Bob Marley, from The Cure to Steve Miller Band, from The Rolling Stones to The Black Keys, Soriano is able to accommodate any type of vibe you're going for. Visit the "Media" page to view videos of Soriano playing guitar, then contact us today to talk about live music and to receive a list of songs from Soriano's "Cover Book."
